WhatsApp link generator with a ready message

A WhatsApp link is https://wa.me/ followed by your full number in international format - country code first, with no plus sign, leading zero, spaces or dashes. The pre-filled message is what the customer sends you, so write it in their voice. A good one tells you what they want before you reply - which is the whole point of pre-filling it.

The mistakes that make a WhatsApp link fail
WhatsApp's own instructions ask for the full number in international format, leaving out any zeroes, brackets or dashes. In India that trips people up in four ways, and the generator fixes all of them:
- A leading zero. 098765 43210 becomes 9876543210 before the country code goes in front.
- The country code typed twice. Paste +91 98765 43210 with India selected and it is used once, not as 9191....
- A plus sign, spaces or dashes. All removed - the link needs digits only.
- Special characters in the message. Spaces, ₹ and line breaks are encoded so the message arrives exactly as you wrote it.

What is a wa.me link?
It is WhatsApp's own click-to-chat link. Anyone who taps it goes straight to a chat with your number, without saving you as a contact first. Add a message to the link and it appears ready to send in their chat box.

Why does my link open "invalid number"?
Usually a formatting slip: a leading zero, a plus sign, spaces or dashes inside the number, or a missing country code. WhatsApp wants the full number in international format with none of those. The generator strips them for you. If it still fails, the number may not be registered on WhatsApp.
