FAQ

QR business card questions

What is a QR code business card?

A QR code business card is a paper or PVC card with a QR that opens your digital profile. With Beeps the QR is dynamic — it points at your hosted profile (beepscard.com/you), so you can change your number, catalog or UPI without reprinting. Static QRs printed once can’t do that.

Static QR vs dynamic QR — what’s the difference?

Static QR encodes your data directly and is frozen after printing; change your phone number and you must reprint. Dynamic QR encodes a short link to your profile — change the profile and every printed QR updates instantly, with analytics on scans.

Do I need an NFC card to use the QR?

No. The QR works on its own from ₹199/year — share link on WhatsApp, print QR on anything. Add NFC card later for ₹1,699 one-time if you want tap-to-share as well. Every Beeps NFC card already has the QR printed as backup.

Where can I print the QR?

Anywhere print goes: paper visiting card, shop board, standee, packaging, invoice, brochure, ID card. Download the QR as PNG from your dashboard at print-ready resolution.

Will the QR work if my subscription lapses?

No — the QR points at your hosted profile, so it resolves while the subscription is active. That’s the same for any dynamic QR service. Renew and the same printed QR works again instantly.

QR vs NFC — which should I use?

Speed: NFC ~2 sec, QR ~5-8 sec (open camera). Reach: QR works on every camera phone, NFC needs NFC hardware. Best answer is both on one card — Beeps does exactly that. See the full comparison at /learn/nfc-vs-qr-business-card/.

Where it earns its keep

Places a QR reaches people a card never will

The card is handed to one person. The QR is printed once and works on everyone who walks past it.

On the counter

A standee beside the till

Reaches every walk-in, including the ones who would politely refuse a card. They scan while paying, which is the one moment they are already holding their phone.

On the bill

Printed on the invoice or bill book

The customer takes it home whether they meant to or not, and it resurfaces exactly when they are looking at what they bought.

On the packaging

A sticker on the box or bag

Turns a delivered order into a reorder route. Nothing else you print gets opened as reliably as the thing the product came in.

On your existing card

Printed on the paper you already have

You do not need to stop using printed cards to get the benefit. A QR in the corner upgrades the stock already in your drawer.

Printing it properly

Getting a printed QR to actually scan

Most QR failures are print problems, not code problems, and all of them are avoidable.

  • Keep it at least 2cm across on paper and considerably larger on a standee or board. A QR that has to be approached is a QR that gets ignored.
  • Leave clear space around it. Text or a border crowding the edge is one of the most common reasons a scan fails.
  • Keep the contrast high and dark-on-light. Reversed-out white QRs on dark backgrounds fail on a lot of budget camera apps.
  • Never print it over a photograph or a gradient. It may scan on your phone under office lighting and fail on a customer's in a shop.
  • Scan the actual printed proof before the full run, with a cheap Android as well as your own phone.
