Paper vs digital business card: what it really costs
Say how many cards you hand out and how often your details change. Get the total for paper and for a digital card over the years you choose, from published prices, and the volume where the answer flips.

The break-even volume, by years and by how often you change details
For one person buying the NFC card with the Pro plan, this is the fewest cards handed out each month at which paper costs more. Below it, paper is the cheaper choice. Above it, the digital card is. We worked every cell out with the same code the calculator uses, on Vistaprint India's prices as read on 29 September 2026.

The more often your details change, the sooner digital pays back, because each reprint throws away most of a box. The longer the period, the later it does, because the card is paid once and the plan every year. These are worked examples, not market economics: they move with your printer's price. The prices the calculator uses for paper
These are Vistaprint India's published prices for Standard Visiting Cards, including taxes, read on 29 September 2026. The calculator buys the smallest box that covers the cards you need, which is why the price per card falls as the box grows.

A reprint is priced as a fresh order for half a year of cards, because on average a change of details lands mid-year and the rest of the old box goes unused. On the digital side, ₹1,699 buys each NFC card once, Basic is ₹199 a year per person, and Pro is ₹299 a year for one profile and up to ₹699 for 5. What the cost numbers leave out
A box of paper cards is cheap and it does one thing. The calculator can only compare cost, so here is what the digital side does that paper cannot.

Is a digital business card always cheaper than paper?
No. Paper is cheaper at low volume. On Vistaprint India's published prices, a box of 100 cards costs ₹200, so someone who hands out a few cards a month spends less on paper than on an NFC card and a yearly plan. The calculator shows the point where that flips for your numbers, and says plainly when paper wins.

Where do the paper prices come from?

Why does changing my details matter so much?
Because a printed card cannot be edited. When your number, address or job title changes, the cards left in the box are out of date and you order again. The tool counts each change as a fresh order for half a year of cards, since on average a change lands mid-year. A digital profile changes in a minute and the card stays the same.
What does the tool leave out?
Design fees, delivery charges on paper orders, and the cost of replacing a lost Beeps card. It also cannot price what a profile does that paper cannot, such as taking an enquiry or a booking, so treat the result as a cost comparison and not the whole case.
How is a team priced?
Basic holds one profile per account, so each person pays for their own. Pro holds up to 5 profiles on one account, and the tool adds accounts of 5 when you go beyond that. The card is a one-time price for each person. For a team of 20 or more, the Enterprise plan is usually cheaper, and the NFC card cost calculator prices it.
Is anything I type sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you enter leaves your device.
