Editorial Standards: How We Research Our Guides | Beeps Card

How we research and write our guides

The rules behind the 28 guides in the knowledge hub, the comparison pages and the free tools: where the facts come from, what we won't publish, and how to get something corrected.

Who writes them

The guides are written by , Managing Partner of Beeps Venture Technologies LLP, the Kochi company that makes Beeps Card. More about the company is on the About page.

Sources

Every outside fact cites the page that states it

A rule, a definition or a figure that is not ours links to the organisation that published it: the regulator, the standards body or the platform’s own documentation. That means Apple and Android for how phones read a card, the NFC Forum and NXP for the chip, DENSO WAVE (the company that created the QR code) for QR rules, Google for reviews and Business Profiles, and FSSAI, BIS, IRDAI, AMFI or the relevant council on the profession pages.

We cite the original, not a blog that quotes it. Every guide ends with a Sources list showing the date someone last read each page, and a source is re-read before that date is changed.

Facts about Beeps

What we say about our own product has evidence behind it

A fact about Beeps Card goes on a page only if we can show where it comes from: the product documentation, the company’s public registration, the Terms of Service or a written confirmation from the team. When we can’t yet, the claim stays off the site. For example, no page names the chip inside the card until it has been checked on a card in hand.

Our prices and plan features are set in one place on the site, so every page, table and calculator shows the same figure, and a price change reaches all of them at once.

Other sellers

How we write about other cards and apps

We sell Beeps Card, and our comparison pages and buying guides are written by the company that sells it. You should read them knowing that. These are the rules we hold them to.

  • A competitor’s price is the one on their own website, and the date we read it is printed on the page. Prices change, so go by that date.
  • We don’t write that another product lacks a feature. If we couldn’t find it, the page says it is not listed on their pricing page as of that date.
  • Where another product is built for something we are not, such as a free plan, metal or wooden cards, or CRM sync, the page says so.
  • No company pays to appear in our guides or comparison pages.
Numbers

Numbers we won’t publish

No customer counts, no star ratings or review counts typed onto a page, no statistic without a source, and no timing we haven’t measured. Our Google reviews are linked so you can read them on Google, where they are current, instead of a figure here that would go stale.

Dates

Dates you can trust

Every guide shows who wrote it, when it was published and when it was last changed. The "Updated" date comes from the page’s edit history, so it moves only when the page actually changes, and the same date is what search engines are given.

You can see these rules at work in the dated seller table of the NFC business card price guide and in the Sources list at the foot of how NFC business cards work.

Corrections

Found a mistake?

Email mail@beepscard.com with the page and what is wrong, or use the contact page. If you sell one of the products we compare and a price or feature has changed, send us the page where you publish it and we will re-read it and update ours.

A corrected page shows a new "Updated" date. Last reviewed .
